Gnome-software 'Sorry, something went wrong: the name xxx was not provided by any .service files'
Solution 1:
As told by hosford42, this command worked for me to solve the issue:
sudo apt install --reinstall gnome-software
I put it as an answer here for improving the visibilty of his comment. All credits to hosford42.
Solution 2:
Try with
sudo apt install policykit-1
It might help.
