What does the Advanced OpenGL setting in the video settings of Minecraft do?
I was looking through the Minecraft settings and saw this. I tried the setting, but it seems that there is no difference at all(see below).

So what does this do to Minecraft, and does it help in performance, etc. or makes it slower?
Solution 1:
It is supposed to improve the framerate and general performance of the game on some video cards.
However, as you (and others) have noticed it really doesn't do much sometimes. For others it does help, and some people have even seen a performance drop with it.
