How to solve "dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libvlccore9_4.0.0~rc1~~git20171225+r73378+113~ubuntu16.04.1_amd64.deb (--unpack)" [duplicate]
Had the same problem and this fixed it:
sudo dpkg -P libvlccore8
Then again sudo apt-get -f install
