Save session settings in KDE environment without shutting down
First, you must have selected "Restore manually saved session" under "System settings" -> "Startup and Shutdown" -> "Desktop session"
Then there will be an entry in the "Leave" section of the standard Plasma launcher widget, called "Save session".
