Where are notes stored in Mountain Lion

macos hard-drive notes.app

They're in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/CoreData/ExternalRecords/.

You can probably just copy the whole ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/ folder from the old installation.
