Windows 7 File Explorer search not working

Solution 1:

I think you search some thing that windows 7 indexing not working on it. Go to the control panel → indexing options → Select Modify and select any location for indexing because windows explorer use indexing to find data on the computer.

I recommended to use Total Commander as file manager that has many many features specially great file search tool.

Solution 2:

Rebuilding the indexing database worked for me! Rebuild it from zero. Then try.

To rebuild it:

• Click Start
• Search for "index" and then select "Indexing Options"
• Click "Advanced".
• Click button that says "Rebuild" and it will delete and rebuild your index file.
