How to bypass Program Compatibility Assistant in Windows 8?
Solution 1:
I found a way to do it, using the Local Group Policy Editor:
- Press Win+R
- Run
gpedit.msc - Navigate to: Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Application Compatibility
- Enable both settings:
- Turn off Application Compatibility Engine
- Turn off Program Compatibility Assistant
Then the installation executes normally.
