- Control-X to cut (and copy) it from the table.
- Click anywhere outside of the table in the main body of the document
- Control-V (or Command-V on a Mac) to paste it in the main body of the document
- Grab one of the little handles on the corner of the image and resize
- With the image still selected, Control-X to cut and copy the resized image.
- Click (or double click) the destination cell.
- Control-V (or Command-V on a Mac) to paste the resized image into the cell. Done.
You can reshape the image in a table by playing with its dimensions on the sidebar. After clicking on the image once, click on the "Format" icon on the toolbar at the top of Pages and play with the Width and the Height numbers in the "Size" option in the "Arrange" tab that appears on the sidebar. Reshaping is done more freely if the "Text Wrap" option in the same tab is set to "None".
