Plants vs Zombies on an iBook G4 - can I fix the gameplay being much faster than normal?

I'm playing Plants vs Zombies on an iBook G4 - can I fix the gameplay being much faster than normal? I don’t see anything about it in the options menu, and there doesn’t seem to be anything else I can do. Is this how the game is supposed to play on Mac or am I missing something? The game audio is just fine, and I don’t notice anything else being wrong.

There is no such thing as fixing it to a faster gameplay. There is only one speed in the gameplay, which is fixed.
